How to get the most out of your gym membership
I was a gym member for many years before I trained as a fitness instructor, and never realised how many mistakes I was making! With my new-found knowledge, I was able to work out much smarter and get better results with less effort. I wrote these two books because I'd have saved a lot of time and avoided hurting myself from overtraining if I'd known then what I know now.
Gym Smart for Beginners is for you if this is the first time you've been a member of a gym. It covers all the basics, and there's a lot of overlap with Gym Smart, so you'll still get all the important tips whichever book you go for.

Gym Smart was written for people who've been using the gym a while and wonder if they could get better results. It's packed full of tips and tricks, but assumes you have a bit more experience than someone who's joining a gym for the first time.

Please note: These books aren't meant to replace your induction and help from an onsite instructor: it's important that someone demonstrates the particular machines you're using and the exercises on your plan, face to face. That way, they can correct your technique if necessary. These books cover all the things your instructor doesn't have time to tell you, and bust a few myths along the way.
